1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of LOCKIN, an academic planning and support application operated by THINQ Design, LLC (“LOCKIN,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using LOCKIN, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use LOCKIN.

2. Apple Standard EULA

If you download LOCKIN from the Apple App Store, the app is licensed, not sold, under Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement unless we provide a separate custom EULA in App Store Connect. Apple’s Standard EULA is available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.

These Terms apply to the LOCKIN service, accounts, content, subscriptions, support, and web/app features in addition to the Apple Standard EULA. If there is a conflict for App Store-licensed app use, Apple’s Standard EULA controls only where required by Apple’s terms.

3. What LOCKIN does

LOCKIN helps students organize academic demands, including courses, syllabi, deadlines, schedules, reminders, study plans, extracurricular commitments, and recovery when plans change. LOCKIN may use AI to help parse academic materials, generate plans, summarize work, support study scheduling, and provide coaching-style academic planning suggestions.

4. Not tutoring, therapy, medical care, or emergency support

LOCKIN is an academic operating support system. It is not tutoring, therapy, medical care, legal advice, disability-accommodation advice, or emergency support. You are responsible for verifying deadlines, assignments, academic requirements, and institutional policies with your school, instructors, and official resources. If you are in crisis or need urgent help, contact emergency services or an appropriate crisis resource.

5. Accounts and eligibility

• You must provide accurate account information and keep your account secure.
• You are responsible for activity under your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use LOCKIN.
• Users under 18 should use LOCKIN with parent or legal guardian involvement.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for LOCKIN or others.

6. Subscriptions, trials, billing, and cancellation

LOCKIN may offer auto-renewable subscriptions, free trials, student plans, family plans, annual plans, and other paid features. Prices, trial lengths, product names, and plan details are shown at the point of purchase.

• iOS App Store purchases: purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and payment methods are handled by Apple through your Apple ID. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.
• RevenueCat: we may use RevenueCat to validate App Store purchases, manage entitlements, process subscription events, and restore purchases.
• Free trials: if a trial is offered, billing begins when the trial ends unless you cancel before the end of the trial through the purchase provider.
• Refunds: App Store refund requests are handled by Apple. We cannot directly issue refunds for Apple In-App Purchases.
• Legacy or web purchases: if web-based purchase options are offered outside the iOS app, those purchases are processed by the stated payment provider and may be subject to separate billing terms shown at checkout.

7. Student content and license to operate the service

You keep ownership of content you submit to LOCKIN, such as syllabi, course materials, notes, chat messages, brain dumps, and academic information. You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, analyze, display, and use that content only as needed to provide, maintain, protect, and improve LOCKIN.

8. AI-generated plans and recommendations

AI-generated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or based on misunderstood documents. LOCKIN is designed to make academic planning more visible and manageable, but you remain responsible for reviewing important deadlines, school policies, academic requirements, accommodations, and official communications.

9. Notifications and SMS

If you enable SMS, push, email, or other notifications, you consent to receive academic planning and account-related messages from LOCKIN. Message frequency varies based on your schedule and settings. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of SMS by replying STOP and can change notification settings in the app where available.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use LOCKIN for unlawful, harmful, abusive, deceptive, or unauthorized purposes.
• Attempt to access another user’s account or data without permission.
• Upload malware or content designed to interfere with the service.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or disrupt LOCKIN or its systems.
• Use LOCKIN to generate or submit academic dishonesty, plagiarism, or work that violates school policies.
• Misrepresent your identity, age, parent/guardian status, or authority to manage a Family plan.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information. By using LOCKIN, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

12. Service changes and availability

We may update, modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue parts of LOCKIN at any time. We work to keep LOCKIN reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

13. Disclaimers

LOCKIN is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and reliability to the maximum extent permitted by law.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, THINQ Design, LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost academic opportunities, missed deadlines, academic outcomes, or loss of access arising from your use of LOCKIN.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer protection laws require otherwise.
